Who we are

Globedle (globedle.com) is a set of free daily geography games. This page explains what information is involved when you play and how it is used.

What we store, and where

Globedle has no accounts and does not ask for your name, email or any other personal details.

Your game progress (today's guesses, results, streaks, practice XP) and your settings (language, distance units, hard mode) are saved in your own browser using local storage. They never leave your device and we cannot see them. Clearing your browser's site data deletes them.

If you install Globedle as an app, a service worker keeps a copy of the game's files on your device so it can load offline.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

Globedle is free because it shows ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites, to limit how often you see an ad, and to measure ad performance.

You can learn how Google uses this information at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and turn off personalised ads at https://adssettings.google.com. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' personalised advertising at https://www.aboutads.info.

Visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent before personalised ads or advertising cookies are used, through Google's consent message. You can change your choice at any time from the privacy link that message provides.

Services the games load content from

To show the puzzles, your browser loads content directly from these services, which receive your IP address and standard browser information as part of any web request: NASA GIBS (night-time satellite imagery), EOX (daytime satellite imagery), Wikimedia Commons (anthem recordings), and Google Fonts (typefaces).

The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes requests to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.

Children

Globedle is a general-audience game and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
